After graduating dental school in Fort Lauderdale in 2011, Dr. Crossen and family moved to Washington state, where he practiced dentistry for four years. While there, he found his passion for endodontics and decided to return to school to specialize. North Carolina was the perfect fit, and Dr. Crossen was happy to be accepted into the residency program at UNC in 2015.
During residency, he had the privilege of being mentored by, and working alongside such renowned endodontists as Dr. Eric Rivera, Dr. Peter Tawil, and Dr. Ashraf Fouad, among many others. The three-year program at UNC allowed for exposure to many different types of cases, the latest in technology, and the opportunity to complete a research project looking at the 3-dimensional patterns of healing following root end surgery. Dr. Crossen was awarded a grant from the Foundation for Endodontics as well as an award from the Yamauchi family and Dental Foundation of North Carolina to complete this research. He maintains his memberships in the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Tar Heel Endodontic Association.
While Dr. Crossen is passionate about quality endodontics, his true passions are spending time with his wife and four daughters. Together, they love to make music, hike in the mountains, and relax at the beach. Having lived in Brazil for two years, he speaks Portuguese fluently, and is proficient in Spanish.
